Anne Cleveland’s fearless, experimental art, using gold leaf, encaustics, oils, and acrylics, reflects the constant change, excitement, and danger of contemporary world living. She is currently working on large canvases, combining vibrant paint colours and effects with gold leaf .
Anne Cleveland studied at the Lucy Clayton School of Design in London and then with respected international artists – Richard Rennie, Robin Townshend, and Pascal Chandler. She is a full-time artist who currently participates in three dynamic art-groups, The KZNSA Gallery, The Garret Artist Group, and The Pascal Chandler Artist Studio.
The Anne Cleveland Gallery shows her most recent works reflecting her view of the rapidly changing world whilst maintaining a thread of optimism and humour. The works are a social commentary by the artist in her expressionist style.
The Anne Cleveland Collection of Artworks spans a period of 33 years. The early works were personal portraits of family and special places in watercolour. She then moved into her initial period of experimentation in botanic studies, using acrylic and oils. Her recent works have begun reflecting the turmoil around us.
